4 minute readMore on comparisons and buying guides

Clara is an AI receptionist app built for tradespeople, sold at a low flat price with unlimited answered calls. For a plumber, electrician or builder weighing up both, it is a reasonable business to compare against. This piece uses only what each company publishes on its own site, read on 28 September 2026, and says plainly where the two are not directly comparable. Prices change, so check both pages before you buy.

The short version

Both price in pounds. Clara's pricing page names the product as Clara AI, by 44pixels. Clara answers forwarded calls or provides a second line, and it is app-first, with iOS and Android apps. Its base plan is for a single user. Ringar AI is a business receptionist with fixed minute allowances and a phone number in every plan. Neither is a criticism; they are different shapes of product for different set-ups.

Plans, side by side

Clara's published plans, read on 28 September 2026:

Clara Pro£69.99£699 a year (£58.25 a month)Unlimited calls answeredMultiple users; extra seats £29 a month per user

Pro£3204,000

Unlimited answered calls and a fixed minute allowance are different units, so no row above is like-for-like. The pricing basis differs too: Clara's base plan covers one user and Pro adds seats at £29 a month per user, while a Ringar AI plan covers the business. A two-person firm is therefore comparing Clara Pro plus a seat against a single Ringar AI plan.

Where the two plans line up most closely

Clara at £39.99 a month, or £33.25 a month equivalent on the £399 annual plan, sits below Ringar AI Entry at £60 with 500 minutes. Clara Pro at £69.99, or £58.25 equivalent annually, sits below Ringar AI Lite at £90 with 900 minutes. On headline price Clara is lower at both tiers, and its answered calls are unlimited.

Where Clara is genuinely stronger

  • Unlimited answered calls at a low flat price. There is no allowance to watch on either plan.
  • Native apps. Clara runs as an iOS and Android app, which suits someone who lives on their phone between jobs.
  • Unlimited outbound calling. Stated on Clara's page.
  • Trial and terms. Seven days free on monthly plans only, cancel anytime, no contract and no minimum term, and two months free on annual billing, where the annual plan starts immediately at the annual price. Ringar AI's trial is a UK phone number and 50 minutes to try the system. Its plans are monthly: you can cancel at any time and the paid-for month runs to its end, with payments for that month not refunded.
  • Live call transfers on Pro. Clara lists live call transfers on Pro. Ringar AI transfers calls to a number you choose, and takes a message or arranges a callback if the call cannot be put through.
  • Text follow-ups and caller ID on Pro. Automated text follow-ups and caller ID on outgoing calls are listed on Pro.
  • A shared calendar and multiple users on Pro.

Clara's low headline price is built around a single user. A firm of more than one person needs Pro plus £29 a month per extra seat, which closes the price gap quickly once a second or third person needs access, and it is unlimited answered calls rather than unlimited fully-handled calls, a distinction Clara's own page does not define.

Where Ringar AI's plans differ

  • Set up in minutes. Answer a few questions about your business during sign-up and you get a UK phone number that already knows your business and can answer callers' questions straight away.
  • A business receptionist rather than a personal app. Every plan includes a phone number, one on Entry and Lite and three on Pro, with additional numbers at £5 a month each.
  • No per-seat pricing. The plan covers the business, however many people pick up the phone when they can.
  • Booking with real availability. Where a calendar is connected, Ringar AI checks real availability during the call and books the slot.
  • Answers from your own information. It answers questions from what the business has given it and takes the caller's name, number and what they need.
  • A written record. What was said and what came of it is left for the team in the dashboard.

Clara suits a sole trader who wants a personal app and is confident they'll stay a sole trader. The moment a second person needs to see the same calls and the same diary, Clara's per-seat pricing starts eating into the headline saving, while Ringar AI's price covers the whole business from day one, whoever picks up. For a firm with a shared line, more than one person, and a diary to book real jobs into, Ringar AI's fixed, business-wide plan is the one that doesn't get more expensive as the team grows.

What neither company's site tells you

Clara's page, as read, gave no company address and no integrations beyond the calendar features it names. Ringar AI's trial is a UK phone number and 50 minutes to try the system, its plans are monthly, and each plan shows a concurrent-call figure. Ask both companies directly.

How to actually decide

A comparison table shows what is published. It does not show how either handles a trade's actual calls: the customer with water coming through a ceiling, the one who wants a quote by Friday. Hear it. Ring the demonstration line on the homepage, or book a twenty-minute call to run through a real example from your own week.

Questions this raises

Not seeing your question? Ask us directly on a demo.

Is Clara cheaper than Ringar AI?

For a single user, yes on headline price at both tiers, with unlimited answered calls. But Clara's base plan covers one person only, and extra Pro seats are £29 a month each, so the saving shrinks fast for any business with more than one person answering the phone. Ringar AI's price covers the whole business regardless of headcount.

Does Clara give me a phone number?

Its page says it answers forwarded calls or provides a second line. Ringar AI includes a phone number in every plan, with additional numbers at £5 a month each.

Can Clara transfer a call to me?

On Clara Pro, yes: live call transfers are listed. Ringar AI puts callers through to a transfer number you set, and takes a message or arranges a callback with the context attached if the call cannot be put through.
