Ringar AI vs Answer AI: per-call plans with a human team behind them, compared
Answer sells an AI receptionist inside a human answering business, priced per call. Ringar AI is AI-only and sells monthly plans with minutes included, so the two plans cannot be converted without assumptions about call length.
Answer is a UK answering business that runs a human answering service and now sells an AI virtual receptionist alongside it. It is a reasonable, genuinely different business to compare against. This piece uses only what each company publishes on its own site, read on 28 September 2026, and says plainly where the two cannot be compared directly. The main difference is the billing basis: Answer prices per call, Ringar AI by monthly plan with minutes included. Neither publishes a call length, so the two price lists cannot be converted into each other. Prices change, so check both sites before you buy.
The short version
Both are UK businesses billing in pounds. Answer's AI tier sits inside a human answering operator: it can transfer a caller to the client, and it can route a call to Answer's human service, with live-agent transfers carrying extra fees from Growth upwards. Ringar AI is AI-only and transfers calls to a number the business chooses, with a message or callback if the call cannot be put through. Answer prices by the call; Ringar AI prices by a monthly allowance of minutes. Neither point is a criticism.
Plans, side by side
Answer publishes four plans, all monthly and cancel anytime. Both price lists below were read on 28 September 2026.
| Plan | Monthly | Calls included | Beyond the allowance | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | £10 | None | £0.85 per call | £25 deposit to activate the online account |
| Growth | £30 | 50 | £0.85 per call | Live-agent transfers carry additional fees |
| Plus | £120 | 200 | £0.85 per call | Multi-lingual options; live-agent transfers carry additional fees |
| Advanced | £300 | 500 | £0.85 per call | Multi-lingual options; account manager option; live-agent transfers carry additional fees |
Ringar AI publishes four plans as well.
| Plan | Monthly | Minutes included |
|---|---|---|
| Entry | £60 | 500 |
| Lite | £90 | 900 |
| Pro | £320 | 4,000 |
| Enterprise | On request | On request |
Calls and minutes are different units, and converting one into the other depends on how long your calls last. Neither company publishes an average call length, so a minute allowance is not a fixed number of calls. A business with many short calls gets more calls out of a minute allowance than one with long calls. Only your own call log can settle it.
Where the two plans line up most closely
Answer Plus is £120 a month for 200 calls, and Ringar AI Entry is £60 a month for 500 minutes. On the published figures, 500 minutes covers 200 calls only if those calls average two and a half minutes or less.
Answer Advanced is £300 a month for 500 calls, and Ringar AI Pro is £320 a month for 4,000 minutes. As arithmetic on published allowances, 4,000 minutes spread over 500 calls is eight minutes a call.
Illustration, with invented numbers and not published data: a business taking 40 calls a month on Answer's Lite plan would pay £10 plus 40 calls at £0.85, which is £44 in that illustration, against Ringar AI Entry at £60 for 500 minutes.
Run your own call log before deciding: how many calls, how many minutes in total, and how long the longest ones run.
Where Answer is genuinely stronger
- A human team in the same company. Answer also runs a human answering service, so a call can be routed to a person. Ringar AI does not offer that human team of its own; it transfers calls to a number you choose, and takes a message or arranges a callback when it cannot.
- Live transfer to the client. Answer can transfer a caller to the client, at additional fees on Growth and above. Ringar AI transfers calls to a number you set, with a message or callback if the call cannot be put through.
- A very low entry price. Lite is £10 a month with no calls included and £0.85 per call, plus a £25 deposit to activate the online account. Ringar AI's lowest published plan is Entry at £60 a month.
- UK numbers included. A dedicated UK number is included, with 0208 and 0207 options. Ringar AI includes a UK number on every priced plan, one on Entry and Lite and three on Pro, with additional numbers at £5 a month each.
- Named integrations. Answer names CRM, Trello, Microsoft Teams, and calendar and booking systems. Ringar AI's integrations page names a built-in scheduler (Ringar AI Schedule), Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar and Cal.com, and a way to send call events to n8n, Zapier, Make or your own endpoint.
- Setup and commitment terms. Answer claims setup in under 10 minutes and describes the service as monthly, cancel anytime, with no long-term commitment required. Ringar AI's trial is a UK phone number and 50 minutes to try the system, and its plans are monthly: you can cancel at any time and the paid-for month runs to its end, with payments for that month not refunded.
A human team in the same company is a genuine option, worth paying for if a business specifically wants calls escalated to a person. The trade-off is the pricing underneath it: Lite's £10 headline needs a £25 activation deposit and includes no calls at all, so every call is billed separately at 85p, and live-agent transfers add further fees on top from Growth upwards. A business that just wants its calls answered properly, every time, for one predictable price is paying for optionality it may never use.
Where Ringar AI's plans differ
- Set up in minutes. Answer a few questions about your business during sign-up and you get a UK phone number that already knows your business and can answer callers' questions straight away.
- Fixed minute allowances. There is no per-call charge, against Answer's £0.85 per call beyond every allowance and on every call at Lite.
- Booking with real availability. Where a calendar is connected, Ringar AI checks availability during the call and books the slot.
- A written record. What was said and what came of it is left for the team in the dashboard.
Answer's human-backup option suits a business that specifically wants a person reachable behind the AI and is prepared to pay per call and per transfer for that guarantee. Most businesses looking for an AI receptionist want the opposite: calls answered properly by the AI itself, without a meter running underneath every one and without a deposit to activate the account. Ringar AI's fixed monthly allowance covers every call at the same rate, with booking, transcripts and a written record included rather than billed separately, which is the more predictable choice for a business whose calls are routine enough that per-call pricing would only add up against it.
What neither company's site tells you
As read on 28 September 2026, Answer's page gave no minute allowance per call and no figure for the live-agent transfer fees. Ringar AI's trial is a UK phone number and 50 minutes to try the system, its plans are monthly, and each plan shows a concurrent-call figure. Ask both companies directly.
How to actually decide
A comparison of published plans shows what each company advertises, not how either would handle your calls: the awkward one, the long one, the one that needs a person now. The best test is to hear it. Ring the demonstration line on Ringar AI's homepage, or book a twenty-minute call and talk through an example from your own week.

Can Answer put a caller through to a real person?
Yes. That is its distinctive strength: a human team in the same company, so a call can be routed to a person, with live transfer to the client at additional fees from Growth upwards. It's a real option for a business that wants a person on standby, at the cost of per-call and per-transfer billing. Ringar AI puts callers through to a number you choose, and takes a message or arranges a callback with the context attached if the call cannot be put through, at one fixed monthly price.
Is Ringar AI cheaper than Answer AI?
Answer's £10 headline is lower, but it needs a £25 activation deposit, includes no calls, and bills every one at 85p, which adds up fast for any business taking a normal call volume. Ringar AI's fixed minute allowances avoid per-call charges entirely, which makes it the cheaper and more predictable option once real usage is accounted for.
Which one includes a phone number?
Answer includes a dedicated UK number, with 0208 and 0207 options. Ringar AI includes a UK number on every priced plan, one on Entry and Lite and three on Pro, with additional numbers at £5 a month each.
