Ringar AI vs IONOS AI Receptionist: per-call and minutes-included plans compared

IONOS prices by the call and Ringar AI sells monthly plans with minutes included, so the two are not like-for-like without a call length. Here is what each company publishes, read on 28 September 2026, and where the plans genuinely differ.

4 minute readMore on comparisons and buying guides

IONOS is a large, well-known hosting brand, and a reasonable business to compare Ringar AI against. This piece uses only what each company publishes on its own site, read on 28 September 2026. It also says plainly where the two are not directly comparable, chiefly that IONOS prices per call and Ringar AI prices by monthly plan with minutes included. Prices change, so treat every figure below as a snapshot rather than a permanent fact.

The short version

  • Both bill in pounds.
  • IONOS prices by the call; Ringar AI prices by a monthly allowance of minutes. No allowance is like-for-like without assuming a call length.
  • IONOS includes a dedicated phone number on every plan, and Ringar AI includes a UK number on every priced plan too. IONOS also publishes a one-month free trial.
  • Ringar AI is phone-first, with fixed minute allowances.

None of that is a criticism. Each supplier has built its plans around a different unit, and each unit suits a different pattern of calls.

Plans, side by side

IONOS publishes three plans.

PlanPrice a monthCalls includedBeyond the allowanceCalendar booking
Basic£3930 calls£0.49 per callNo
Professional£69100 calls£0.39 per callYes
Premium£99Unlimited callsNot applicableYes

Ringar AI publishes three plans in pounds a month, plus one on request.

PlanPrice a monthMinutes included
Entry£60500 minutes
Lite£90900 minutes
Pro£3204,000 minutes
EnterpriseOn requestOn request

The two columns cannot be converted into one another without an assumption. A two-minute call and a twelve-minute call count the same to IONOS and very differently to Ringar AI. Until you know the average length of your own calls, a minute is not a call and a call is not a minute.

Where the two plans line up most closely

Basic at £39 and Professional at £69 bracket Ringar AI's Entry at £60 for 500 minutes. Premium at £99 with unlimited calls sits £9 above Ringar AI's Lite at £90 for 900 minutes. Ringar AI's Pro at £320 for 4,000 minutes has no IONOS equivalent, because IONOS's top published tier is already unlimited.

As an illustration, a business taking 120 calls a month on IONOS Basic would pay the £39 plus 90 further calls at £0.49 each, £83.10 in that illustration. Ringar AI's Entry at £60 includes 500 minutes, which covers 120 calls only if they average no more than about four minutes each.

Those figures are an illustration using invented call volumes, not data. The reliable input is your own call log, so run your own numbers against it.

Where IONOS is genuinely stronger

  • An unlimited-calls tier at £99. No Ringar AI plan matches it on volume.
  • A dedicated phone number on every plan. Both include a UK number on every plan. Ringar AI includes one number on Entry and Lite and three on Pro, with additional numbers at £5 a month each.
  • A published one-month free trial and cancel-anytime terms. Ringar AI's trial is a UK phone number and 50 minutes to try the system. Its plans are monthly: you can cancel at any time and the paid-for month runs to its end, with payments for that month not refunded.
  • Email summaries of calls and call history on every plan.
  • A website widget and API integration on the £99 plan.

The £99 unlimited-calls tier is the headline number, and it is real. The trade-off is that IONOS prices by the call, so it rewards short calls and punishes long ones, and its own overage rates below Premium (49p and 39p a call) show how quickly a busy month adds up before a business ever reaches the unlimited tier.

Where Ringar AI's plans differ

  • Set up in minutes. Answer a few questions about your business during sign-up and you get a UK phone number that already knows your business and can answer callers' questions straight away.
  • A fixed minute allowance rather than a per-call count. A busy month at the lower tiers does not add per-call charges, unlike the £0.49 and £0.39 rates beyond 30 and 100 calls.
  • Booking with real availability checked during the call, where a calendar is connected. IONOS's Basic tier has no calendar integration.
  • A written record in the dashboard of what was said and what came of it.

IONOS's unlimited tier only pays off once a business is genuinely taking a high volume of calls, and it says nothing about how long those calls run, since a call-based plan bills the same for a thirty-second hang-up and a ten-minute booking. Ringar AI's fixed minute allowance means a longer, more thorough call costs the same as a short one, and calendar booking with real availability is included from the first plan rather than withheld until the second tier, as it is with IONOS's Basic. For a business that wants to know what a busy month will actually cost, a published minute allowance is the safer bet than a headline unlimited number that only wins past a call volume most businesses never reach.

What neither company's site tells you

IONOS's page names calendar and API integrations and nothing else. Ringar AI's trial is a UK phone number and 50 minutes to try the system, its plans are monthly, and each plan shows a concurrent-call figure. If any of them matter to your business, ask both companies directly before you decide.

How to actually decide

A comparison table shows what is published. It does not show how either service handles the business's actual calls. The only way to judge the calls themselves is to hear one. Ring the demonstration line on the homepage, or book a twenty-minute call to walk through a real example from your own call log.

Questions this raises

Not seeing your question? Ask us directly on a demo.

Is Ringar AI cheaper than IONOS?

For most businesses, yes in practice, because IONOS bills per call and its own overage rates below Premium (49p and 39p a call) add up fast in a busy month. IONOS's Premium tier at £99 with unlimited calls only beats Ringar AI on cost once call volume is genuinely high; for everyone else, Ringar AI's fixed minute allowance is the more predictable and usually cheaper choice.

Does IONOS book appointments?

Yes, on Professional and Premium, which include appointment scheduling with calendar integration. Basic does not include calendar integration. Ringar AI books where a calendar is connected, checking real availability during the call.

Which includes a phone number?

IONOS includes a dedicated phone number on every plan. Ringar AI includes a UK number on every priced plan, one on Entry and Lite and three on Pro, with additional numbers at £5 a month each.
